Plans & pricing, explained

What you get without paying a cent, the one action that requires a plan, and how Starter, Pro and Elite build on each other.

What is free, forever

You could spend a month on Bet2Invest without ever opening the pricing page. That is not a loophole; it is how the platform is built. Without a plan, you can:

  • Browse public strategies. The public leaderboard is open to everyone. Study how other builders structure their filter trees, read their stats, and borrow what works.
  • Build as many drafts as you like. The strategy builder is fully available. A draft is a strategy you have not saved yet: add filters, move them around, tear the whole thing down and start again.
  • Backtest on real Pinnacle data. Every draft runs against genuine historical market data. On the free tier the backtest window covers the most recent 183 days, roughly six months. Ask for a longer period and the window is quietly clamped to those 183 days; nothing breaks.
  • Preview a strategy's picks. You can see up to 10 settled picks a strategy would have produced. Enough to get a concrete feel for what it selects, not a full history.
  • Try the AI fill once. Every account gets one lifetime AI fill of the canvas: you describe an idea in plain words, and it comes back as a filter tree you can refine.

None of this expires. The free tier is not a trial with a countdown; it is a permanent laboratory. You can iterate on a draft for weeks before spending anything.

The exact line where a plan becomes necessary

A plan is required at one precise moment: when you want to save a strategy. Saving is what brings it to life. The configuration locks, and the platform starts watching live matchups on your behalf. From then on, every time a pre-match matchup satisfies every filter in your tree, you receive a pick.

That is the whole boundary. Research, building and backtesting cost nothing; receiving picks from a live strategy is what you pay for. Think of the free tier as the workshop and the plan as what ships your strategy to production.

Starter, Pro, Elite: a ladder, not a menu

There are three plans, Starter, Pro and Elite, and the simplest way to read them is as a progression, not three unrelated products. Each step up unlocks more along the same dimensions:

  • Filter tiers. Filters are grouped into tiers. The Explorer tier (odds ranges, leagues, groups, team names, weekdays and similar scoping filters) is available on any plan. Higher tiers add the sharper tools: team form and streaks, head-to-head history, scheduling and fatigue, and market-quality filters such as vig and league liquidity. One filter, the league line-move filter, is exclusive to Elite.
  • Longer backtest windows. Each plan pushes the maximum backtest window beyond the free 183 days; at the top, the limit disappears entirely. More history means more settled bets in your sample, and a more trustworthy read on whether an edge is real or a fluke.
  • More room to build. Plans differ in how many saved strategies you can run at once (strategy slots), how many distinct sports you can author on, and how many resource points you have. Resource points are a budget for the computational weight of your filters: heavier ones like head-to-head history cost more than simple ones.
  • Private strategies. Without this capability, a saved strategy is public. Plans that include it let you keep your work to yourself.
  • Power features. As you climb: advanced analytics on your backtests, strategy duplication, a monthly allowance of AI fills, the strategy aggregator (several strategies combined into one feed), CSV export of your picks, rollover of unused picks, and at the top of the ladder, auto-betting, where picks are placed automatically through a connected bookmaker profile.

Every plan also includes a monthly allowance of picks. The exact numbers for all of the above live on the plans page and can change, so we deliberately do not quote them here.

Billing intervals versus the picks quota

Here is the detail that trips people up. You can pay weekly, monthly or quarterly, but your picks quota is always monthly, on a window anchored to the date your subscription started, whatever your billing rhythm. Paying quarterly does not hand you a quarter's worth of picks up front.

Two more quota facts worth knowing early: only notifications that are actually sent burn quota, and on plans with rollover, unused picks carry over to the next month instead of vanishing. The full mechanics are in the picks quota guide.

How to read the pricing page

When you open the plans page, resist the urge to start from the price column. Ask two questions instead:

  1. How many picks do I realistically need per month? A single focused strategy may only fire a handful of times a week.
  2. Which capabilities do my ideas actually require? Which filter tier, how much backtest history, private or public, and whether you want auto-betting.

Then pick the smallest plan that answers both. Downgrading later never deletes your existing strategies: they are grandfathered, and the new caps apply only to new activations. Starting small carries little risk.

One framing to keep in mind: a plan does not make your picks win more often. Plans unlock capability (better tools, more history, more room), not results. The edge still has to come from your strategy.
