Trademate Sports Alternative: Backtest and Automate on Pinnacle Instead of Scanning Soft Books
Trademate Sports finds mispriced odds at soft bookmakers until those bookmakers limit you. Bet2Invest starts where that journey ends: systematic strategies, backtested on years of Pinnacle odds and automated on a sharp book that welcomes winners.
What Trademate Sports does, and where it stops
Trademate Sports is a real-time value betting scanner. It compares soft bookmaker prices to the sharp market, flags the bets where Bet365, Unibet or William Hill are wrong, and tells you how much to stake. It works, and that is precisely the problem: after a few months of winning, soft bookmakers limit your stakes or close your account, and the scanner has nothing left to scan.
Bet2Invest takes the opposite route. Instead of hunting pricing errors at bookmakers that will eventually ban you, you build rule-based strategies, backtest them on up to 10 years of Pinnacle opening and closing odds, soon 20, and automate them on your own Pinnacle account, a sharp bookmaker that takes winning action.
This page is for bettors who liked the discipline Trademate taught them and want a way to keep applying it once the soft books are gone.

When Trademate Sports is the right choice
Be honest with yourself about which stage you are at.
Stay with Trademate if you still have fresh, unlimited accounts at soft bookmakers in a market it covers well. Nothing beats the raw expected value of a soft book pricing error, and Trademate Core is a polished way to farm those errors until the accounts run out. Its Pro plan also makes sense if you want a value scanner across exchanges and Asian books and are comfortable placing every bet by hand.
Trademate is not built to answer "does this betting idea work over the long run?". It has no backtesting engine, no strategy builder and no automated execution. It gives you today's value bets; it does not help you design a system.
When Bet2Invest is the better fit
Move to Bet2Invest if any of these sound familiar:
- Your soft bookmaker accounts are limited or closed and Trademate Pro at €400/month is hard to justify for manual betting.
- You want to test an idea on years of real sharp odds before staking a euro on it.
- You want bets placed for you, on your own account, without giving a third party your money.
- You would rather build an edge you understand than rely on a feed you cannot inspect.
1. Validate ideas on 10 years of Pinnacle prices, soon 20
Every matchup in the Bet2Invest database carries its Pinnacle opening and closing price and its real settled result, over up to 10 years of soccer today and 20 years once the history extension ships. You describe a strategy with 37 filters (odds ranges, implied probability, line movement, league liquidity, form, standings, rest days, season phase, market-implied expected goals and more) and the engine settles every simulated bet at the actual closing price by default, or the opening price if you choose so. You get bet count, yield, profit and loss, maximum drawdown, winning and losing streaks and the equity curve in seconds.
Because backtests settle at the close by default, they also show how the line moved between opening and closing on the situations you selected. A strategy that consistently picks sides the market later steams toward is a strategy with real closing line value once you follow it live.
2. Automate on your own Pinnacle account
Connect a strategy to Pinnacle Automation and every qualifying bet is placed on your Pinnacle account through the official Pinnacle API, using your own credentials. Your bankroll never leaves your bookmaker account and Bet2Invest never takes custody of it. You set the stake rule, an odds floor and a maximum odds drop, and you can cancel any scheduled bet. Bet2Invest charges a flat 0.2% fee per placed bet, and that is the only money it touches.
If you prefer to place bets yourself, every pick is delivered by notification with the detected price, the same way a Trademate alert works.
3. Bet where winning is allowed
Pinnacle runs some of the lowest margins in the market and does not limit winners. Building on it means the strategy you backtested today can still be bet at the same limits in three years. That is the trade-off in a sentence: soft books offer bigger short-term edges that disappear with your account; Pinnacle offers smaller, durable edges you can actually scale.
Making the switch from Trademate
- Keep your closing line habit. Trademate trained you to judge bets by CLV. Bet2Invest uses the same yardstick: backtests settle at Pinnacle closing prices by default and live picks are tracked against the close.
- Turn your instincts into rules. The bets you kept winning with on soft books usually follow a pattern: a price band, a league profile, a line move. Write it as filters and let the backtest tell you if the pattern survives at sharp prices.
- Start free. The Explorer plan gives you the builder and the odds database with a capped backtest window, no card required. Move to a paid plan when you want the full history and automation.
- Follow before you build. Public strategies on Bet2Invest come with live, tracked results. Following one is free and is the fastest way to see how systematic Pinnacle betting feels compared to a value feed. Not sure where to start? Open a ready-made strategy for your sport.

Frequently asked questions
Is Bet2Invest a value betting scanner like Trademate?
No. Trademate finds individual mispriced odds at soft bookmakers in real time. Bet2Invest is a strategy builder: you define rules, backtest them on historical Pinnacle odds, then follow or automate them. It does not compare bookmakers or flag one-off pricing errors.
Can I automate bets without giving Bet2Invest my money?
Yes. Bets are placed on your own Pinnacle account through the official Pinnacle API with your credentials. Bet2Invest never holds or manages your bankroll; the only charge is a flat 0.2% fee per placed bet.
Does Trademate offer backtesting?
No. Trademate stores the odds history of the bets you took and tracks your closing line value, but it has no engine to test a rule set on past seasons. Bet2Invest was built around that engine.
How does the pricing compare?
Trademate Core is €120/month (or €300/quarter) for soft bookmakers and Pro is €400/month (or €1,000/quarter) for sharp books and exchanges; a US-only plan is $49/month. Bet2Invest has a free Explorer tier and paid plans from €49.95/month, with automation available on paid plans.
I got limited on my soft bookmakers. Is Pinnacle really an option?
Yes. Pinnacle is the reference sharp bookmaker: it accepts winning players and offers high limits. It is available in many jurisdictions but not all, so check availability in your country before signing up.
Which sports does Bet2Invest cover?
Soccer, basketball, tennis, American football, baseball, ice hockey, volleyball and esports, with 10 years of Pinnacle history on soccer, 20 years coming soon, and 5 years on the others.
