What the favourite side filter does

The filter reads the opening moneyline and determines which team the market considers the favourite. You then keep only matchups where that favourite is on the side you chose: home or away. Pick-em matchups, where the odds show no clear favourite, are excluded on both settings, so the signal stays clean.

Why favourite location matters

Home favourites and away favourites are very different bets. A home favourite combines market confidence with venue advantage; an away favourite is a team the market rates so highly it overcomes playing on the road. Historically, betting markets price these segments with different levels of accuracy, and many well-known angles live precisely here: away favourites in certain leagues, home favourites after a defeat, underdog value against inflated road favourites. This filter is the switch that isolates each segment.

Example strategies

• Build an away favourites strategy in leagues with weak home advantage, where road favourites tend to be underestimated by casual money.
• Combine "home team is the favourite" with a result streak on the away side to systematically catch struggling visitors against confident hosts.

Combining it with other filters

On its own, favourite side is a coarse split; its power comes from stacking. Add an odds range to separate slight favourites from heavy ones, since 1.45 and 1.90 favourites behave nothing alike. Use the implied probability filter for a vig-free threshold, or a standing gap condition to require the table to agree with the market.
